SpaceWorks Expands Executive Management Team with New General Counsel
Rockville, MD -- July 13, 2000 -- SpaceWorks, Inc.®, a leading business-to-business sell-side Web commerce software company, today announced the appointment of Robert M. Skelton as Vice President and General Counsel. Mr. Skelton brings over 15 years of combined experience in technology, capital investment, and employment policy and business development.
Mr. Skelton will lead the company's legal affairs, with an emphasis on its intellectual property, employment, strategic partnerships and business operations as SpaceWorks prepares for the next stage in its development.

"Mr. Skelton brings to SpaceWorks a solid track record of capital investment, merger and acquisition, contract negotiation and employment administration. Prior to SpaceWorks, Skelton served as Vice President of Corporate Development and General Counsel for The Netplex Group (Nasdaq: NTPL), an information technology and e-business consulting company. Skelton was responsible for the management of all legal and SEC matters, acquisitions, and employment and compensation policies. Mr. Skelton was responsible for negotiating and closing five acquisitions, which nearly doubled the revenue of Netplex.
Before joining Netplex in 1996, Skelton served as Vice President, Human Resources and General Counsel for Central Atlantic Toyota Distributors, Inc. Mr. Skelton was responsible for resolving daily legal, human resources and facilities matters. In addition, Skelton advised on the legal implications of advertising, handled and supervised litigation and supervised a variety of employment programs.
Mr. Skelton received his bachelors' of arts degree from Union College and his juris doctorate from The George Washington University. He is a member of the Virginia Supreme Court, the District of Columbia Court of Appeals, the Maryland Court of Appeals and the United States Court of Appeals, Fourth Circuit.
