"Full Scale Extranet Commerce Solutions Up-And-Running In 60 Days - Or Your Money Back"

SpaceWorks Ground-Breaking EC GUARANTEE Program Speeds Actualization of Order Processing Cost Reductions

Rockville, MD -- April 9, 1998 -- SpaceWorks, Inc., an emerging leader in Extranet Commerce software, today announced the Internet commerce industry's first money-back guarantee for an enterprise-class, electronic ordering solution in the new EC GUARANTEE program. According to Company officials, SpaceWorks promises to deploy full-scope implementations of its award-winning OrderManager software-including integration with legacy or ERP systems-in 60 days. If it fails to reach this impressive milestone, SpaceWorks will promptly forgive the OrderManager software license fee and remove its software, or complete the implementation if the client wishes to proceed and offer a free, full year of technical support.

According to SpaceWorks President and Chief Executive Officer Dave MacSwain, the EC GUARANTEE Program is made possible by the Company's rapid application development methodology, proven time-and-again in real-world customer situations. The Program enables corporations to begin realizing the significant cost savings associated with electronic transactions in a short turn-around time. SpaceWorks clients have witnessed savings of up to 75 percent on transactions placed through OrderManager compared to traditional central order desk processing.

"Companies that are ready to get serious about Electronic Commerce don't want to wait eight to twelve months for a complete working solution to be in place," Mr. MacSwain said. "In today's frenetic marketplace, few, if any EC vendors have been willing to guarantee the timely deployment of their solution. With this confident proposal, we're making a serious overture to the industry that our solution can quickly deliver the benefits and value proposition of EC that they are seeking."

SpaceWorks' OrderManager application automates the supply chain transactions of FORTUNE 1000 companies over the Web. OrderManager creates real-time, Internet/Extranet-based "self-service" order processing channels between a company's trading partners and its own back-end enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.

With today's announcement of the EC GUARANTEE program, new OrderManager customers can deploy this robust order management environment in 60 days-the rapid application deployment schedule becomes a contractual obligation for SpaceWorks.

The OrderManager software license fee starts at $100,000.

"This announcement represents an enterprising approach on the part of SpaceWorks," said David Alschuler, Managing Director of Electronic Commerce at the Aberdeen Group. "It reflects a very sharp pencil and, most importantly, accentuates management's confidence that OrderManager will perform to both the schedule and technical expectations of their prospective licensees."

Headquartered in Maryland's "Technology Corridor," SpaceWorks develops, markets and supports a suite of business-oriented electronic commerce software applications for use on the Internet, through private corporate intranets and over extranets. The OrderManager software enables corporations to reinvent the way they operate with their supply chain partners, suppliers, and business clients in the information economy.
