SpaceWorks Offers Wireless B2B e-Commerce Capabilities for Global 2000 with MobileManager

Jacob Javits Convention Center - iEC - New York City, NY  -- March 1, 2000 -- (Booth 580) -SpaceWorks, Inc.®, the leading business-to-business sell-side Web commerce software company, today announced the launch of SpaceWorks MobileManager -- which enables real- time, wireless e-Business capabilities for the Global 2000. This application, available as part of SpaceWorks Web BusinessManager Suite, moves key features of SpaceWorks flagship product, OrderManager®, into a wireless environment. Using any number of hand-held, wireless devices, such as the Palm III, Palm V and Palm VII, business customers will be able to conduct such key real-time ordering activities as order tracking and inventory availability 24x7. Other order management features will be added in a future release.

Using MobileManager, business customers, trading partners and sales representatives will be able to tap into the back-end systems of the selling organization in real-time from nearly any location. In addition to Palm organizers, MobileManager also supports Wireless Application Protocol (WAP) compliant devices and is compatible with any wireless Internet service provider. MobileManager is available today as a part of the SpaceWorks Web BusinessManager Suite.

Dataquest estimates that the number of wireless data subscribers worldwide will grow from approximately 16 million at the end of 1998 to approximately 111 million at the end of 2003. According to Lauren Shu, senior analyst for e- Commerce software at Dataquest, "Companies who augment their business-to-business e-Commerce initiatives with wireless capabilities can benefit from the increased efficiency, streamlined business processes and convenience that immediate access to order information, from anywhere, can provide."

"Today's Global 2000 gain another important competitive advantage on the Internet with SpaceWorks MobileManager," according to SpaceWorks President and CEO, Dave MacSwain.
