SpaceWorks Raises Bar For B2B e-Commerce With OrderManager 4.2:

Rockville, MD -- November 23, 1999 -- ROCKVILLE, MD--November 23, 1999--SpaceWorks, Inc., the leading business-to-business sell-side Web commerce software company, today announced OrderManager 4.2, giving companies fundamentally enhanced Web-based marketing, selling and customer service capabilities. With this version release, SpaceWorks executes a key part of its targeted partnership and product development strategy announced in October.

Newly developed features include customer surveys, Web-based quote management and numerous order management enhancements. In addition, integrated links within OrderManager 4.2 to third party solutions will enable complex product configuration, Internet-based customer service and support and interactive selling. OrderManager 4.2 will be commercially available in the first quarter of 2000.

SpaceWorks OrderManager 4.2 expands on the current, comprehensive features and functionality found in SpaceWorks business-to-business E-commerce solution, particularly Web-catalogs, order submission, inventory availability, order transactions, order tracking and order fulfillment.

Internet-Based Customer Surveys OrderManager 4.2 will provide SpaceWorks clients with the ability to better target their product offerings, improve customer relationships and troubleshoot customer concerns through customer surveys. A survey editor will allow the seller to provide specified expiration dates to ensure timely data. Survey results can be used to generate a variety of customer-centric reports.

Quote Management Via the Web With this new feature, users will be empowered with the ability to create a request for quote which can later be changed to an actual order or left to expire based on a pre-determined number of days. Sellers can then respond with quoted prices to the RFQs. Prices would be guaranteed only for the life of the quote, ensuring date and time sensitivity.

Complex Configuration Through a direct integration capability, OrderManager 4.2 will enable business buyers to engage in product configuration through an "unconstrained guidance" approach for the selection of the most complex of products and services. This comprehensive Web sales and product configuration application will support unstructured, fully interactive buyer input, as well as provide support for multiple product types, ship-to-order, assemble-to-order and engineer-to-order. The business buyer will have access to these complex configurations through a seamless interface with OnLink's Rainmaker SalesŪ application as part of an alliance with OnLink Technologies, Inc.

Enhanced Customer Service OrderManager 4.2 will enable buyers to communicate with customer service reps from the SpaceWorks OrderManager solution via e-mail, Web-based text chat or voice over the Internet, all in real-time at the push of a button. In addition, through access to an extensive knowledge database, business customers will be able to answer their own questions and resolve their own problems in a Web-based self-help environment. As part of an alliance with Servicesoft Technologies, these new features will be accessible through a direct link to the Servicesoft eCenterŪ solution from the OrderManager application.

Interactive Selling OrderManager 4.2 will provide a direct integration to OnLink's Rainmaker SalesŪ application to deliver the market's leading interactive selling functionality. This integration will enable the selling organization to effectively guide the buyer through the buying-decision process. For example, the business customer will be able to receive instant feedback and product validation when searching for products to fulfill their specific needs. These features will be accessible via a link to the OnLink solution. Related features include intuitive cross-selling and up-selling capabilities that will provide Spaceworks clients the ability to target business buyers based on user-specific offers and discounts.

Enhanced Order Management OrderManager 4.2 also includes new and enhanced order management features such as: immediate order acknowledgment; detailed order confirmation; the ability to export order data from OrderManager into a spreadsheet tool; and a multi-line order form option which can be pre-populated with promoted or most frequently ordered products.

"The vision of business-to-business E-commerce is all about Internet-based relationships that ensure the satisfaction of the customer, driving more targeted selling and, in turn, increased revenues," according to SpaceWorks President and CEO, Dave MacSwain. "OrderManager 4.2 plays a key role in SpaceWorks promise to make our clients more profitable via the Web."
