For Immediate Release:
Spaceworks Expands Functionality Of The Web BusinessManager Suite With Release Of Version 6.2
Rockville, MD -- April 16, 2001 -- SpaceWorks, Inc., a leading business-to-business sell-side Web commerce software
company, today announced the next-generation of the SpaceWorks Web BusinessManager
Suite, Version 6.2. It will be commercially available later this month. In this
latest version, expanded out-of-the-box capabilities are added to OrderManager,
MarketingManager and IntegrationManager. An expanded relationship with software
partner webMethods fuels new SpaceWorks integration offerings with this release.
Further, Version 6.2 continues to build upon the J2EE platform that SpaceWorks
introduced during the fourth quarter of 2000.
“The continued evolution of the SpaceWorks Web BusinessManager Suite leverages the
self-service nature of the Web, further automating the way companies market, sell,
support and invoice their business customers,” said SpaceWorks President and CEO
Dave MacSwain. “Large manufacturers and distributors looking to justify
investments in e-Business will find it even easier to reduce costs and generate
revenue with Version 6.2 and thus realize an earlier ROI than ever before.”
The 6.2 architecture, which is J2EE-based, enables large enterprises to enjoy
numerous benefits such as increased application interoperability, enhanced
seamless automation of business processes and increased performance. The latest
version continues to utilize the open standards that have enabled SpaceWorks
clients to experience lower costs associated with the tailoring and future
upgrades of the Suite. Version 6.2 is certified on BEA Weblogic Server and IBM
WebSphere.
Integration Management
SpaceWorks IntegrationManager has been broadened to now support integration of the
SpaceWorks Web BusinessManager Suite with any third-party EAI solution. This
leverages the seller’s EAI solution of choice to provide complete integration
between the Suite and back-end systems, eMarketplaces, private trading exchanges,
buyer procurement systems and other trading partner systems.
As a result of the expanded relationship with webMethods, SpaceWorks now resells
two leading webMethods solutions:
· WebMethods B2B—for integrating the SpaceWorks “sell-side” eCommerce
solution with a third-party procurement system, with a business buyer’s own
purchasing system, or with eMarketplace systems; and, · WebMethods
Enterprise—for integrating the SpaceWorks “sell-side” eCommerce solution with the
selling organization’s own internal back-end systems.
In addition, another key integration enhancement includes a CommerceOne
Adapter to enable sellers to link their SpaceWorks-powered private, sell-side
marketplace with Commerce One procurement systems and eMarketplaces.
Marketing Management
SpaceWorks MarketingManager has been expanded to include the following features
that will allow for even more effective B2B online and email merchandizing
campaigns, thus leading to increased revenue from current business clients.
Added Customer Profiling Choices – Allows sellers to collect additional
information about their business buyers’ activities online (i.e., order and
clicking history; number and time business buyers browsed pages and viewed
promotions) in order to predict and influence future product selection and
purchasing activity.
Extra Survey Options – Enhances the methods that sellers can use to develop
surveys to gauge interests of buyers. Sellers can create, edit and preview
surveys, as well as create surveys for different languages and develop survey
profiles and reports on aggregated data.
New Rules Administrator Selections – Enables sellers to select from various
new business rule conditions to drive targeted promotions to business customers.
New promotions reflecting dollar or percentage off a specific product or the
entire order are now available. Further, items selected for purchase that are on
promotion will reflect the special price on the order form.
Order Management
The award-winning SpaceWorks OrderManager has been broadened through substantial
new functionality, further eliminating expensive and time-consuming order
processing costs. Highlights include:
Catalog Internationalization – Enables sellers to display catalog
information in any language, specific to the user’s preference, and to handle
multiple currencies. Buyers also can select the desired language for receiving e-
mail communications from the seller.
Order Submission for Services – Allows business buyers to purchase services
such as installation or maintenance for the products they are buying.
Additionally, the sales management module of the Suite has been expanded to
include auction capabilities in Version 6.2. SpaceWorks SalesManager has been
integrated to the Siebel eAuctions application to provide this functionality.
