SpaceWorks Joins UDDI Advisory Group

SpaceWorks to Provide Expertise on Development of Universal Description, Discovery and Integration (UDDI) Architecture for Internet Commerce

Rockville, MD -- January 19, 2001 -- SpaceWorks, Inc.®, a leading business-to-business sell-side Web commerce software company, today announced that it will serve as an advisor to the Universal Description, Discovery and Integration (UDDI) Working Group, a coalition of leading B2B e-Commerce companies that are sponsoring the creation of standards designed to accelerate and broaden business-to-business integration and commerce on the Internet.

The UDDI Working Group will define a platform-neutral set of specifications to enable businesses to describe themselves and their e-business processes and place this information in an open, universally accessible registry. SpaceWorks will work with UDDI founders such as IBM, Microsoft, Ariba, and other advisors on these projects. When completed, the UDDI Business Registry and UDDI specifications will benefit any company seeking to do business on the Web.

"SpaceWorks understands the complexity involved in B2B transactions and from that perspective, recognizes the need for standards to fuel universal e-commerce adoption,” said Dave MacSwain, SpaceWorks President and CEO. "SpaceWorks enthusiastically supports this UDDI project and will play an active role in its development."

The SpaceWorks Web BusinessManager Suite enables Global 2000 manufacturers and distributors to sell their products to other businesses on the Web, and to expand that functionality over time through a set of modules that address multiple business processes that can be migrated to the Internet.
