SpaceWorks Announces Commercial Availability Of Web BusinessManager Suite v. 6.0 Based On J2EE Platform
Rockville, MD -- December 20, 2000 -- SpaceWorks, Inc., a leading business-to-business sell-side Web commerce software
company, today announced the commercial availability of the next-generation of the
SpaceWorks Web BusinessManager Suite, Version 6.0, which is based on Java™ 2
Platform, Enterprise Edition (J2EE).
SpaceWorks has certified the Web BusinessManager Suite 6.0 on BEA Weblogic® Server,
the market leader in Java application servers. Additionally, Version 6.0 will be
certified and delivered on IBM® Websphere™ and iPlanet Application Server™ in early
Q1 2001.
The Suite 6.0 architecture now incorporates J2EE platform technologies including
Enterprise JavaBeans (EJB)™, JavaServer Pages (JSP)™, Java™ Servlets, JavaBeans™,
Java Remote Method Invocation (RMI), Java Naming and Directory Interface (JNDI)™,
JavaMail™ API, Java Database Connectivity (JDBC) API, Java Messaging Service (JMS)
and Java Transaction Service (JTS).
The J2EE technology increases interoperability of the Web BusinessManager Suite
with independently developed applications, enhancing seamless business processes as
well as increased performance. J2EE will also enable SpaceWorks clients to
experience lower costs associated with the tailoring and future upgrades of the
Suite. Version 6.0 extends the current use of Extensible Markup Language (XML) in
the Web BusinessManager Suite, which will enable faster integration to other
systems.
The Web BusinessManager Suite 6.0 release is available on NT, Solaris, AIX and HP-
UX operating systems.
