SpaceWorks and Commerce One To Strengthen Seller and Buyer Relationship Among Global 2000

SpaceWorks Web BusinessManager Suite To Integrate Suppliers on Commerce One.net

Rockville, MD -- November 13, 2000 -- SpaceWorks, Inc., a leading business-to-business sell-side Web commerce software company and Commerce One, Inc., (NASDAQ:CMRC) the leader in global e-commerce solutions for business, today announced the execution of a memorandum of understanding to use the SpaceWorks Web BusinessManager Suite to integrate suppliers on Commerce One.net. By working together, Commerce One and SpaceWorks expect to provide a comprehensive supplier integration solution. The execution of definitive agreements is expected this quarter.

SpaceWorks Web BusinessManager Suite helps Global 2000 companies sell their products on the Web. The expected integration of SpaceWorks Web BusinessManager Suite with Commerce One.net will help sellers participate in multiple e- marketplaces and provide real-time access to a broad range of buying organizations.

Commerce One.net is an open e-marketplace that provides global e-commerce services to buyers, suppliers and Net Market Makers. Commerce One.net enables a portfolio of e-commerce services, helping trading partners rapidly conduct business across e- marketplaces. It supports trade between buyers and suppliers across multiple e- marketplaces, is open to any application and technology standard and is an on- ramp to the Global Trading Web, the world’s largest business- to- business trading community.

“We expect that Commerce One and SpaceWorks will rapidly accelerate global business- to-business trading,” said Roy Satterthwaite, vice president of Commerce One.net at Commerce One. “By making it easier for suppliers to move their business onto the Web, we plan to pave the way for more organizations to achieve the tremendous benefits of e-marketplaces.”

It is expected that suppliers using the SpaceWorks B2B selling solution will connect to Commerce One.net and thus reach a significant number of buyers as well as other e-marketplaces on the Global Trading Web. Suppliers using the Web BusinessManager Suite to connect to Commerce One.net should experience improved online collaboration with buyers and increased supply chain efficiencies.

"We believe that SpaceWorks powerful Web BusinessManager Suite solution coupled with Commerce One’s deep penetration into worldwide markets will create a formidable channel for buying and selling via the Internet," said SpaceWorks president and CEO, Dave MacSwain. “Real-time seller integration into online marketplaces will result in tremendous opportunities for Global 2000 companies.”
