SpaceWorks Announces Pratt & Whitney as Newest B2B Client
Billion Dollar Aircraft Engine Manufacturer To Use SpaceWorks Web BusinessManager Suite
Rockville, MD and (East Hartford, CT) -- September 28, 2000 -- SpaceWorks, Inc, a leading business-to-business sell-side Web commerce software company, today announced that Pratt & Whitney, a world leader in the design, manufacture and service of aircraft engines, space propulsion systems and industrial gas turbines, has licensed the SpaceWorks Web BusinessManager Suite to replace its existing in-house system with an industrial-strength B2B solution that focuses on customer interaction and expanded mission- critical transaction capability.
Pratt & Whitney will use OrderManager®, the foundation of the Suite, to conduct Web commerce with its worldwide business customers. Customers will have Web access to Pratt & Whitney's catalog of products and services such as commercial and military engine parts and a wide variety of engine services.
SpaceWorks OrderManager will provide Pratt & Whitney's business customers with numerous, real-time Web-based transactional capabilities including order placement, order tracking, inventory look-up, account status and shipping updates. Through seamless integration to Pratt & Whitney's existing systems -- inventory data, list pricing, shipping and customer account information, product descriptions and more will be accessed via the Web.
In addition to OrderManager, Pratt & Whitney has also licensed SpaceWorks MarketingManager, which will allow it to target advertising or promotions to specific business customers based on buying habits and individual interest. Third, Pratt & Whitney has licensed SpaceWorks ReportManager, which will enable it to access reports on its business customers' buying activities on the website, such as buyer histories, responses to targeted promotions, and sales revenue-to-date.
