SpaceWorks Forms Strategic Technology Alliance with Business Objects

Alliance Enables Superior B2B Reporting Capabilities for SpaceWorks ReportManager

Rockville, Md. and San Jose, Calif.  -- June 22, 2000 -- SpaceWorks, Inc.®, a leading business-to-business sell-side Web commerce software company, and Business Objects (NASDAQ: BOBJ), the world's leading provider of e-business intelligence (e-BI) solutions, today announced a strategic alliance and OEM agreement to enable business-to-business (B2B) reporting capabilities for the new SpaceWorks ReportManager software.

Business Objects will serve as a SpaceWorks preferred technology vendor, enabling SpaceWorks ReportManager to provide customer access to Web-related user data for its Global 2000 and e-Marketplace clients who have implemented SpaceWorks OrderManager as the foundation of their B2B e-Commerce sites.

SpaceWorks plans to incorporate WEBINTELLIGENCE® from Business Objects into ReportManager to allow access to Web-related transaction and buyer profile data through numerous prebuilt reports, as well as through the ability to create specialized ad hoc queries. SpaceWorks clients as well as their business buyers will be able to retrieve and manipulate such key information based on specific site-related data.

"It is clear that e-business intelligence is playing a key role in the exploding market of business-to-business e-commerce and trade exchanges," said Bernard Liautaud, president and CEO of Business Objects. "SpaceWorks is a well- known innovator in the B2B market, and we are pleased that they have chosen our e-business intelligence to compliment their solution, SpaceWorks Web BusinessManager Suite."

"Our alliance with Business Objects was initiated in direct response to growing market demand for the ability to easily and efficiently obtain and analyze data about the user experience and overall buying patterns on an e- business commerce site," stated SpaceWorks president and CEO, Dave MacSwain. "ReportManager ensures that no key nugget of marketing intelligence about the e-business site goes unnoticed or unused."

ReportManager serves as the most recent addition to the SpaceWorks Web BusinessManager Suite, which consists of individual, optional application modules that can be added to the flagship SpaceWorks OrderManager application in any sequence, at any time. It will be commercially available in the upcoming release of Web BusinessManager Suite 5.0.

SpaceWorks and Business Objects- WEB INTELLIGENCE is the Business Objects thin- client tool to access, analyze, and share corporate information. The product works seamlessly with BUSINESSOBJECTSª, the company's full-client e-BI tool. WEBINTELLIGENCE is the first query, reporting, and online analytical processing (OLAP) solution for web-enabled businesses and the burgeoning e- business intelligence market.

About Business Objects
Business Objects is the world's leading provider of e-business intelligence (e-BI) solutions. The company coined the term e-business intelligence in 1998 to describe the intersection of business intelligence and the internet. Using e-business intelligence, organizations can access, analyze, and share information in intranet, extranet, and e-business environments. In intranets, the company's products provide employees with information to make better business decisions, and are used in environments ranging from workgroups of 20 users to enterprise deployments exceeding 20,000. In the extranet environment, the company is pioneering the use of e-BI in applications that allow organizations to build stronger relationships by linking customers, partners, and suppliers via the internet. In addition, the company's products can improve the performance of an e-business by providing reporting and analysis against the ever-expanding amount of transaction and profile data that is collected each day throughout the world wide web.

Founded in 1990, Business Objects pioneered the modern business intelligence industry by inventing and patenting a "semantic layer" that insulates users from the technical complexity of database systems. Today, the company has sold more than 1,910,000 licenses to over 10,200 organizations in more than 80 countries. The company's stock is publicly traded under the ticker symbols NASDAQ: BOBJ and PARIS BOURSE: code SICOVAM 12074, and included in the SBF 120 and IT CAC 50 French stock market indexes. Business Objects can be reached at 408-953-6000 and www.businessobjects.com.
